ADC Drug Preparation
The preparation process for ADCs is much more complex than that for traditional monoclonal antibodies or small-molecule drugs, as it combines biomacromolecules, highly active small molecules (toxins), and chemical linker technology. The preparation of ADCs is a complex, precise, multi-step process, hailed as “biological missile” technology. Its core lies in efficiently and stably binding three components together: a highly specific antibody, a potent cytotoxic molecule (small molecule), and the chemical linker connecting the two.
The whole preparation process can be divided into three main stages: 1. Antibody production. 2. Preparation of payload and linker. 3. Conjugation, purification, and formulation.
